Empowering coastal communities, transforming grassroots lives.
Building sustainable livelihoods, resilient health systems, and social equity in southwestern Bangladesh.

Gonomukti works where public health, climate adaptation, livelihoods and social inclusion meet, to empower marginalized rural families. Lasting change begins when communities hold the tools to lead their own development.
An equitable, resilient society where vulnerable coastal communities live with dignity, health and economic security.
To improve life for marginalized rural people through healthcare, safe water, climate-resilient livelihoods and empowerment.
Four programs, each built with the village it serves.

02Coastal water and sanitation
Rainwater harvesting, pond-and-filter systems and village water committees in salinity-hit areas.
03Climate resilience and livelihoods
Saline-tolerant farming, poultry, handicrafts and disaster preparedness drills.
04Gender equality and human rights
Legal aid awareness, micro-enterprise support for women, and youth clubs against early marriage.

Clean water, close to home in Pitabogh

01 / 05Gonomukti began with a simple belief: lasting change starts when communities are given the tools to lead their own development. Since 2006 we have worked from Rupsha, Khulna, side by side with families along the coast of southwestern Bangladesh.
Rising salinity and extreme weather still threaten lives here. Together with our partners, we have delivered clean drinking water to over 12,000 coastal residents, reached 35,000 mothers and children with health services, and trained 1,500 rural households in sustainable agriculture.
There is more to do. To scale our clean water systems, launch mobile health clinics and reach more families, we rely on the generosity of partners and donors. Your contribution directly funds vital field operations, turning hardship into lasting self-reliance.
Join us in building a dignified, resilient future for coastal Bangladesh.
Guided by social activists, community leaders and development professionals.
